- Your name and, where applicable, the name of the enrolled participant
- A record of your consent, including the date, method, and source of your opt-in
We collect this information only when you voluntarily provide it through one of our opt-in methods described below.
How We Use Your Information (Purpose of SMS Communications)
We use your mobile number and related information to send text messages about:
- Promotions, discounts, and special offers
- Enrollment and program updates, reminders, and schedule changes
- Invitations to optional weekly group chats for your child’s program location and session
- Program-related reminders, such as friend requests for grouping
- Customer service and responses to your inquiries
No Sharing or Selling of Mobile Information
Kong Academy LLC will never sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in/consent information with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
We may share limited information with trusted service providers and subcontractors — such as our SMS platform provider and customer-support vendors — solely to operate and support the messaging program on our behalf. These providers are contractually required to protect your information and are prohibited from using it for their own marketing purposes.
Optional Group Chats and Third-Party Platforms
From time to time we may invite you, by text, to join an optional group chat (for example, a WhatsApp group for your child’s program location and weekly session) where families can communicate and receive week-specific updates. Joining any such group is entirely voluntary. We do not share your phone number with these platforms. If you choose to join, you provide your information directly to that service, and your use of it is governed by that platform’s own terms and privacy policy.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies. You can generally expect to receive no more than 2 messages per week across both promotional and program-related texts.
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Kong Academy does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier’s standard message and data rates may apply depending on your plan.
How You Opt In
We obtain your consent to receive SMS messages through the following methods:
- Website checkbox — by checking the SMS consent box on a form at kongacademy.org
- Waiver form — by providing your number and consent on our participant waiver form
- Enrollment confirmation — by providing your number and consent during enrollment confirmation
Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of purchasing any product, program, or service.
How to Opt Out
You can cancel SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After you reply STOP, you will receive one confirmation message and will not receive further texts unless you opt in again. For help, reply HELP or contact us using the information below.
Data Security and Retention
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. We retain your opt-in records and contact information for as long as you remain subscribed and as needed to comply with our legal obligations, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.

Our SMS program is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older and who are the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number provided.
